Williams and Donovan Benfleet is situated on a corner position with probably one of the biggest window displays in the area.

Our office launched in January 2014 and we aim to be the “Agent of Choice” in Castle Point and beyond whether you are selling or renting property in Benfleet, Hadleigh, Thundersley, Canvey Island, Pitsea, Bowers Gifford and beyond.

Ian Williams is the Director responsible for the Benfleet office.  Ian is delighted that Paul Cross has joined us as our Lettings Manager and will be assisting Ian and Lloyd Brooks with the Sales office.  Ian and Paul have been good friends since working together at Bairstow Eves, in Benfleet, for a number of years in the early 1990’s.

Lloyd Brooks has joined us as Sales Manager and brings with him a wealth of experience, having worked locally for an independent estate agent in Benfleet for a number of years.

Ian Williams MNAEA


Ian has a wealth of knowledge in the property market having been involved in estate agency nearly all of his working life.  He started his career with Bairstow Eves working in their Hockley, Rayleigh, Shoeburyness, Canvey Island and Benfleet offices until he decided to set up his own business in 1999 with his longtime friend, Colin Donovan. 

Ian believes customer service and communication is the absolute key to successful estate agency and he possesses a real understanding of clients’ needs and does his utmost to exceed their expectations.

Ian is a licenced member of the National Association of Estate Agents (NAEA) which means he is a qualified and trained agent who can give you professional up-to-date advice and guidance and adheres to a voluntary Code of Practice and Rules of Conduct laid down by the NAEA.

Ian says “Colin and I decided to fulfill our dreams by opening in 1999 and we are extremely proud to have created such a successful and respected business built on strong foundations. I am now looking forward to my new challenge of opening our Benfleet office based on these same principles”.

Lloyd Brooks MNAEA

Sales Director

Having worked in estate agency locally for several years Lloyd is now very pleased to have joined the team at Williams & Donovan in their Benfleet branch. He successfully managed an independant office in Benfleet and prides himself on his professional, honest and hardworking approach. 

Lloyd tries to ensure he fully understands the needs of his clients and is always prepared to make an extra effort to ensure those requirements are met.

Joanne Jones

Sales Manager

Joanne started in estate agency in 1989. During her 24 year career she has worked for both corporate and independent agencies all based in the South Essex Area. Her first job in the industry was as an office junior and from that she worked her way up to Branch Manager at a large corporate agency in Rochford, winning numerous performance related awards along the way.

Joanne believes that clients can benefit from her experience of living in the area as she is able to give them honest advice about buying or selling their home.  In fact, 18 years of her experience is based on working in the Rayleigh, Hockley, Rochford, Benfleet and Canvey areas. 

Joanne’s personal aim is to ensure that her clients receive the best possible standards of customer care in every aspect of their home move.

Lynn Beard

Senior Sales Consultant

Lynn started her career in Estate Agency with a large corporate Company working in their, Witham, Chelmsford, South Woodham Ferrers and Rayleigh branches. Then, wanting to add another string to her bow, worked for a Chelmsford Company combining lettings and sales to learn the lettings side of the business too.

For the last ten years she has enjoyed all aspects of the business, starting at the bottom and reaching management level. Proving that with hard work, determination and a desire to succeed you can achieve your goals.

Lynn takes great pleasure in helping people find their dream home, and feels she has found her true niche, building a great rapport with her clients and offering a transparent, honest reliable service at one of the most stressful times in their lives.

Joining Williams & Donovan Lynn has added another dimension to the Benfleet office to compliment the hardworking, successful team that are already in place.

Hayley Saunders

Sales Negotiator

Hayley has worked in estate agency for eight years, and worked locally at a corporate estate agent for many of those years.

Having lived in Benfleet all of her life, Hayley has a great understanding and knowledge of the area which she is always happy to pass on to her clients.

Hayley has two young children Archie and Florence that attend the local preschool in Benfleet, and in her spare time they enjoy many family activities together.

Daniella Williams

Lettings Consultant

Daniella's earliest memories of the real estate industry is being in her parents busy commercial property agents in Leigh-on-sea from the young age of eight, folding letters, stuffing envelopes and photocopying property details. Their office was a vibrant hive of activity and she loved being part of it.

As an adult she joined a large corporate agency as a Junior Negotiator in their Benfleet office, where she trained and acquired her basic knowledge. She later moved to a small independent Agency in Benfleet where she joined her husband as a very successful team offering the best in customer service and contact ability the industry had ever seen at that point.

They then took the next step of opening their own Agency and made their mark on the Benfleet area for over five years helping over 300 families move in and out of the SS7 postcode, priding themselves on their level of repeat business and word of mouth referrals, that came from satisfied clients who came to us for help and advice.

Paul Cross

Lettings Manager

Paul has been a familiar face in the Benfleet area since 1990 when he first started working in estate agency. Having worked for several agents over a 19 year period in senior roles he then moved on to start his own independant company in 2009. Since then he has established a good working relationship with many local clients with the expansion of the Property Management Company which has now been re-branded to Williams and Donovan Benfleet, with the intention of continuing to provide an exceptional service to landlords in the surrounding areas for many years to come.

Paula Dixson

Lettings Consultant

Paula started her working life with Barclays Bank in London at the age of 16. She remained there for 15 years until leaving to start a family. When her children were school age she began working in a local primary school as a clerical assistant, where she worked for seven years.

Paula has now joined Williams & Donovan and is looking forward to putting her financial and clerical knowledge to good use in her new role as a Lettings Consultant.

Kay Fogg


Following an 18 year career within banking with Midland Bank, Kay has spent the last 15 years working in education.  She spent 12 years helping to run the PTA and as a school Governor at Montgomerie School which included 3 years as Chair of Governor. 

Kay joined us in 2014 and is responsible for all the secretarial roles for the office.

Simon Jones

Mortgage Advisor

Simon is a reputable mortgage broker, who has worked for competitive lenders since 1990. In various positions, including National Key Accounts and Regional Sales Manager, Simon has shown commitment to his role, therefore excelling within this challenging environment to looking after all mortgage brokers from Shoeburyness to central London.

His dedication to his work inspired him to encourage others to learn and his expertise soon included training brokers on Compliance and Best Practice.

Since the beginning of 2013, Simon has been self employed, working with Affinity Mortgages Ltd as a senior financial consultant. Having a wealth of knowledge with all types of Residential, BTL, Bridging and Secured Loans, Simon has built up his reputation as an honest and committed broker, exuding his willingness to work hard and make client satisfaction his main priority.

Simon has worked with Williams and Donovan, as their recommended mortgage advisor, since the start of 2014 and has been an asset to their already thriving business.

Dean Neagen Ce-Map

Senior Mortgage Advisor

Dean worked in estate agency for ten years before moving into the financial services sector, where he has now worked for 15 years. Deans estate agency background gives him an excellent understanding of his clients needs, and makes Dean an excellent problem solver, should the need arise. In his spare time Dean enjpys many sporting activities, but will always make an evening appointment when needed.

Phil Reid

EPC Assessor

Phil has been working with Williams & Donovan since 2010 and been in the industry for over 20 years. He is delighted to be part of a very dedicated and professional team of sales consultants who all believe in the company ethos of "providing the very best customer service".

Phil is also qualified as a Domestic Energy Assessor which qualifies him to carry out energy surveys and provide Energy Performance Certificates (E.P.C.) on all our new, instructed properties.
