Hockley Parish Council Heritage Trail

Did you know that the parish of Hockley has a history that dates back to Saxon times?
However, if you live here or travel through it, you may not have realised this was the case.
Hockley Parish Council wanted to raise awareness of the history of the village and called in the help of local historians, who set about restoring the past by installing green heritage plaques on sites of historical importance: nine locations within the village in fact!
The objective was, to identify buildings that remain from the old Hockley and bring their stories back to life with the Heritage scheme.
